SAN DIEGO, Friday, July 17, 2015 — Unknown to many, when some consumer research firms rank a car company's quality performance they often do so by simply "counting problems." In the past, this may have been acceptable, but in today's modern and efficient manufacturing world the difference between the worst brand and best brand is LESS than half-a-problem per vehicle. Thus, any "quality ranking" based on this method is severely lacking in the complete picture of the "Total" Quality experience that customers actually use to judge their product ownership. Today, Strategic Vision released the results of its 20th annual Total Quality Index™ (TQI) study that not only measures problems, but also includes over 155 specific aspects of the customer's experience. As a result, by considering the metric at the corporate level, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has the industry's highest score.

"In 1997, only 15% of all car brands had less than a half-a-problem per vehicle, with a few 'delinquent' brands having more than two problems per vehicle. In 2015, 100% of all brands had less than half-a-problem on average per vehicle. This means that simply counting problems once had a place in history, but today, knowing what creates love and that which enhances the...
Ram Trucks recently received a patent for a truly brilliant, if so far nonexistent, pickup-truck feature: fold-out ramps integrated into the bed of a pickup truck. Damn, why didn’t we think of this?

The patent, titled “Adjustable Loading Ramp System for a Vehicle” and awarded on June 30, was noticed by a tipster who forwarded the info along to the Mopar-mad folks over at Allpar, who first reported on the finding. It describes a system featuring two slide-out ramps that stow in the floor of the pickup bed and also lock into channels at the far end of the folded-down tailgate. Sliders allow the user to adjust the width of the ramps to fit the vehicle being loaded in or out.

Anyone else on the forum thinking about going the same route?

With the introduction of the all-new grille on the 2015 RAM 1500 Rebel, RAM Truck designers talk about their inspiration for these unique grilles. Besides a terrific look at the story behind the grilles, there is some great footage of the Rebel that should get your heart rate up. Enjoy!

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (June 12, 2015) — Buyers of Ram Truck’s new Ram 1500 Rebel pickup will be hard-pressed to overlook what tires are OE on the special edition line — the truck’s interior features the tread pattern of its Toyo Open Country A/T II tires embossed on the front and rear passenger seats.

The Ram Rebel brings an aggressive off-road design to a full-size pickup, offering an increased ride height, standard 33-inch tires and either a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 in either 4x2 or 4x4 configurations. The four-door crew-cab variant comes with a 5x7-foot bed.

Visually the Rebel features a blacked-out grille with a prominent billet silver “RAM” letter badge, black off-road powder-coated front bumper design, powder-coated billet silver skid plate, front tow hooks and 33-inch Toyo tires on 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Air suspension lifts the Rebel 1-inch higher than other 4x4 Ram 1500s for 10.3-inch ground clearance; the suspension lowers the vehicle at highway speeds for better fuel economy and can be raised for additional clearance or lowered for ease of entry.

“We are proud to have secured this exclusive, high-profile fitment that will grow awareness of the Toyo Tires...
