When it was introduced at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the Ram 1500 Rebel brought a whole different look to the Ram truck lineup, with a blacked-out, block-letter grille, rugged-looking styling, and a lifted suspension. Although Ram goes to great pains to insist the Rebel is not a direct competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor, it’s not hard to see where it received its inspiration. If you’ve been patiently waiting to get your hands on Ram’s latest offering, you won’t have to wait much longer. Production of the Rebel just kicked off this week at FCA’s Warren, Michigan, assembly plant. No firm date as to when the trucks might start arriving in dealerships was given, but we’re guessing the Rebel will start showing up on dealer lots sometime in August.
