Hi All,

Been searching the build topics here (all nice builds by the way) and found some references to AMP and RBP and MOPAR and Rough Country and I'm sure a few makers now offer power running boards... Looking for those who have experience with these options to help me make the best choice for my truck.

All seem to be similar in design and materials, so looking for first hand experiences to compare... I've heard some opinions that Mopar boards extend and retract slower than others (maybe due to single motor versus 2 motors for each side?) Some versions rely on the OBD port and an extra adaptor if you use it for other things. yada yada yada...

I'm hoping some of you that have used power steps can share your brand info and what your experience has been.

Thanks for taking the time to read and please share what you care to.

Cheers,

After doing my research on all powerboards it was hands down "AMP." I loved the slim/low profile design so it didn't take away from the ride height appearance like the others I've seen, especially over a fixed board. Definitely on the more expensive side compared to the others; however, you get what you pay for in this category. Installation was easy if you have any tool experience, and I did the installation alone. If you get the lighting kit, drilling holes can be a bit challenging if you have a weak drill or worn-out bits. You do have to use the OBD port and the wiring/instructions were super easy to follow and I had zero issues.
Regarding the speed, they are quick! Once you pop the door the step is already waiting to help you load up. Here is a photo of them installed. Waiting on back-ordered wheels but I'm going up with an RC 3.5" lift w/ M1 upgrade front and rear within the month (fingers crossed).

Hey, JRhara
thanks for the input. your experience sounds like a lot of other reviews I have read... people seem really happy with AMP solution.

Appreciate your response.
