Brake control

I want the same thing. Dealer told me if they install it, it will be under warranty with the rest of the truck. Not sure if it will be like a factory install or not. RV Center says they can do it, but I'm not sure how location on dash will be.

I installed the factory unit on my previous Ram 1500 and it is not that bad of an install. There is a YouTube out there that is very good following every step. You will save a lot of money installing it yourself. My Rebel came with the very same unit. By the way, if you have the towing package, you already have the wiring harness and you just plug it in. The dealer then will flash your ECU to accept the unit and you are good to go.

Thank you for the info. I have the towing package. I'm just towing a popup now but plan on going bigger where ill need the electronic brakes. Did you buy the parts from the dealer and then install them yourself, or did you purchase it elsewhere? Ill have some time over the winter now to research this.

I do not remember the Dealership but it was one listed on eBay. Far cheaper than the local Dealership.

You are welcome, search the best price on eBay and you will be glad you did...

I added the Factory break controller on my old 1500, purchased from Ebay. I then took it to the dealer to have the truck programmed to recognize it. the dealer added it to the VIN. I thought it was a bit expensive at the dealer 150$ but i did it anyway. i was very happy with it. and it was very easy to install.

What did dealer charge to program?

Can I get a Mopar part number for the brake controller please?

I know this is old but came across this. Looking to get the trailer brake control for my 2015 rebel. I already have the tow/haul package and hill decent. Do I need to just buy the factory switch or the factory switch AND module? No matter which one I have to still take it to a dealer to flash the ECU to accept it?

How do you end up with the tow/ haul package and not have the trailer brake?? Seems odd.

maybe didn't explain it correct...... I have the tow/haul switch/button which works but don't have the trailer brake control. Just didn't come with the trailer brake control. I have already bought the trailer brake control and module and getting it installed soon. I have pulled a 26 ft snowmobile trailer already with 3 sleds in it. Pulled and braked fine with out the trailer brake control, but still getting it installed just to be safe. I do like the downshifting it does even with out the brake control.
