Not really, but what do I know. I've had it pick up police over an mile. Depending on how they are facing....knock on wood, no issues with police.
I don't really speed, it's just one of those extra protections when your not paying attention to the posted speed limits and get carried away....

perfect post after this weekend.. Last 2 years I have put 50K miles on my A8 driving between DFW and KC running my Escort Max and ALP shifter setup and not a single ticket.. I drive to LR from KC in my wifes acadia without my Max and the 1 time I decide to open it up I get a 15 over ticket... I swear up and down by my setup and I can tell you that it has more then paid for itself in saves.

I will also add this, a Radar detector isn't just good for speeding and getting away with it. I have been stopped by some not so honest officers that have said they clocked me doing XX and my detector didn't make a peep. As soon as I question it they have turned nice and let me go with a "warning".

Don't take this in any way as a knock against law enforcement, I love, respect and am always thankful for the job they choose to do.
