Planning some mods for my freshly ordered Red rebel,

Current planed list:
  • 54" Curved LED bar, windshield mounted
  • 28" LED bar in bumper
  • LINE-X the skid plate and ram logo
  • Paint the tow hooks red
  • x2 dually aux. back up lights
Maybes:
  • Alpine 9" dash upgrade
Here are some mockups, one with out the ram logo coloured other without. I'm looking for some opinions on these possible mods.

Also does anyone have any insight on where to install a switch panel on the inside of the truck?

With the buttons I tried to add more to the missing buttons where air-conditioning for the seats would be. Or front park sensor. Dealer said you can't add to that. I'm working on it and taking it all apart my self.
Keep you posted.

Canadian rebel. What part of the country you in ?
So my dealer installed the 8.4 yesterday and it worked for the most part. I needed to order a connecter fro FCA and it all should work fine. But one thing. The volume knob will not. Makes no sense to me why they would build stuff that can't be interchangeable. I might go to that alpine unit. Thx !!!

I live in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). What about yourself?

You would think it would be no problem to change the 5" to the 8.4", but they have to be difficult :). I like the look of the Alpine system, it really adds to look of the interior compared to the 5".
Calgary lol
if the 8.4 don't work perfect I might just go to the alpine better product and would go nice with the rest of the system.
The only thing to be mindful of on the Alpine is the price of the system (close to $3,000USD, so in Canada probably stupidly high) and as far I can see in my research it doesn't work with the factory back-up cam, as you have to buy the "Alpine-Specific" back-up cam. At least the alpine cam has a front one as well, just something to keep in mind. :)
Thank you ! I may have the dealer install the 8.4 and live with no volume on the dash.
I think I will x-line the skid plate and leave the ram logo as is.

Are you planing on doing the line-x yourself or at a shop?
Im going to try to do everything myself. I have a couple friends that really know their stuff, so I'll stay out of trouble.
I was thinking of using raptor liner because I like the results, very comparable to rhino and Line-x. But I can't wait to see the results you get!! :)
I've never used raptor liner. I will check it out and try not to hold its name against it. Lol. Seriously, I may just do a plastidip as a trial. It will protect the plate, to some degrees plus give a cool, flat black finish. It can be easily peeled off if I don't like it.
What other mods are you considering?
I think bed liner (raptor, rhino, herculiner, line-x, etc) will give the skid plate bumper a nice textured look and the added protection will be great on trails to help prevent scratches and dings (if you plan on off roading it).

I am planing on installing a cold air filter, looking into the scat packs for the 5.7L for added performance. I also plan on installing LED light Bars, (small one in the gap near the bottom of the bumper, one big one across the roof, and two dually's in the rear for aux. back up lights). What about you, what are your plans?

Im liking the way you think. I haven't sold myself on the roof light bar, but the grill led's are a must. I am also planning the blackout k&n filter. This weekend I hope to spray my break calipers with a high gloss high temp red paint. ( Match the 5.7 Liter logo)

Air horn and Bushwacker fender flares. Maybe a Bully Dog but we will see.

Can the air horn tie into the suspension? Is there some type of compressor operating the airlift? Dumb questions maybe but I really fo t know. Lol
KD, you are correct. The air ride suspension has a compressor but I don't think it can be used with any other accessory. A good quality horn kit will come with a small compressor and tank. I've never installed one but it seems pretty straight forward. I will post all the details as I get closer to instalation. I have three teenaged daughters, two college age, so my mod budget just went to tuition. It may be awhile before I get any serious mods started. I have a couple paint projects in mind,( calipers and skid plate) but that's about it till I recover from the tuition checks I've written this month. Lol
