It is standard for 2017MY. Picked my 2017 up last weekJust be sure that when you order it, you want the Rebel Instrument Cluster with it. It's rumored to be standard with the Rebel in 2017, but I wouldn't take that as fact.
The 2017 Rams have not received Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The 2017 FCA vehicles to receive it so far are 300, Challenger, and Charger. The only difference between the 16 and 17 is the updated Uconnect for apple and google additions. If thats important to you then wait for the 17s. If it isnt, you could get a great deal on an end of year 16. They are the same truck.
Promise you that Apple CarPlay and android auto will not be on any of the Rams until the next model year.I can confirm this, say some 2017 1500's/2500's/3500's at the dealership this weekend, with no uConnect 4.0 or Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. It will be available later this year on the 2017 models, appears they had some production issues on the new head units.
That being said, I would definitely NOT get a 2017 without Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. I have an aftermarket headunit in my Jeep with CarPlay and it is a GAME CHANGER. Much better than any OEM nav set up and will never be outdated.
