So the little doors that divert the air to the dash / floor / defrost vents died. Dealer wants $850 to fix them... local guy I usually go to says that's not a bad price, he'd be at least $1,300 because it's such a pain in the ass and he really wouldn't want to do it. Of course my extended warranty ran out 6,700 miles ago and I can get an extension and cover it but that costs basically another $100 per 1,000 mile additional coverage.

Anyone have this happen? What an absolute garbage design.
