One thing you can definitely do for gas economy is to get behind a big truck. I towed a trailer recently on a long flat stretch of road, about 200 miles. It was a pig, like these. But finding a semi that was going the same way, I just eased in about 5 or 6 car lengths behind him. Not close enough that I was getting a full "draft" but I watched my economy jump up quite a bit just because of some of his draft effect at that distance.

So do you guys think that the Rebel could handle towing a 10,000 lb camper I think its like 25' long
my TT is 9600 dry 10500 fully wet with a 1000lbs tongue. I to dry and am at probably 9000 lbs with 900 tongue. I can pull and stop just fine. i also have a WD hitch... the front end seems a little light but I don't know if it really is or if I am just paranoid. im thinking about stepping up to a 2500 but am not sure if it would tow any better... i wish the had a 2500 rebel.

There is no 2500 Rebel, but there is the Power Wagon. :) The Power Wagon is rated for about the same towing:
2017 Rebel 1500, 4x4, 5.7L Hemi: 9350 lbs
2017 Power Wagon 2500, 4x4, 6.4L Hemi: 9,960 lbs.

Other 2500 models are rated for 11,000+ lbs, though.

:) IMG_5162.JPG IMG_5161.JPG I'm towing a 33' Jayco Camper. Total weight with all equipment is about 7,000 lbs... Pulls it really nice... And the air suspension adjusts immediately after I hitch it up...

I regrettably decided to trade in my Rebel and yes it was a very sad day... I was just not able to get the towing experience i wanted with such a big trailer. I loved that truck.
What kind of towing problems were you having? I don't like towing with mine

I just felt very light especially in the front end and made steering touchy . it did have plenty of power just not enough weight... I was towing 1000# tongue 10000# trailer... at 1400 payload I had little left for people and gas...

Well safety and reliability is a huge concern for all. Sounds like you may need to move up to a diesel.....so what you end up getting?
